Born in Northern California, composer, arranger, producer and performer Ryan Scott was drawn to the guitar at a very early age. Starting with his self-formed band at age 12 called "Blue Nova", the young musician has been performing ever since. Originally drawn to New York City at the age of 18 by the rich bebop tradition, he soon began to branch out, diving into all of the other things that the city had to offer. In 2007, He released an album of self composed songs on Velour Records entitled 'Smoke & Licorice'. Ryan continues to work as a multi-instrumentalist on recording sessions in New York and elsewhere, and performs frequently in a variety of different settings.
Recent projects include appearances on new releases by singer/songwriter Marshall Crenshaw and French DJ Bob Sinclar, performances with Marianne Faithfull's New York band, a European tour with The Knights orchestra, writing, producing, and recording music for film and TV, and co- producing and performing on Christina Courtin's upcoming sophomore release.
