Top notch and somewhat under-appreciated venue that weekly hosts some of the biggest names in New York Jazz , all in a very intimate setting and relatively affordable depending on what you want to eat/and or drink (which you may want to since both the food and drink are excellent). No PA's (vocalists are an exception), no frills, just a small, dimly-lit, basement level room with very low ceilings and as a result hosting groups no larger than trio format. That being said, you're going to find some of the best solo, duo, and trio (usually not piano/ sometimes keyboards, due to the space restrictions there is no piano in house) action you'd be able to catch on any given night in Manhattan.
